An institution and a pillar.
That's how Laguna 1st district Rep. Ma. Rene Ann Lourdes Matibag described San Pedro Mayor Calex Cataquiz, who recently passed away.
"Ipinaaabot po namin ang aming taos-pusong pagdamay sa buong pamilya Cataquiz lalo't higit kay Mayora Lourdes Cataquiz (We send our heartfelt condolences to the entire Cataquiz family, especially to Mayor Lourdes Cataquiz)," Matibag wrote in a Facebook post Thursday, Dec. 1.
"Isang institusyon at haligi ang nawala sa Bayan ng San Pedro. Habambuhay po namin ipagpapasalamat ang tagumpay at pag-unlad na naidulot ni Mayor Calex sa kanyang panunungkulan sa ating bayan (The town of San Pedro lost an institution and a pillar. We will forever be grateful for the success and progress that Mayor Calex brought to our town during his term)," she said.
The lady solon further said: "Your legacy will undoubtedly live on, Mayor Calex. The people of San Pedro will forever remember you for the man, leader and father that you were for the City of San Pedro."
"May you rest in peace in God's paradise, Mayor Calex," she added.
