The fatalities were identified as Jessie Delgado Jr. of Pontevedra town, driver, and one of his two passengers, Jayson Pagcaliwagan of Batangas City.

The only other passenger who was injured was Geraldine Gamus, also of Batangas.

Staff Sgt. Ronald Javier, traffic investigator of Bago City Police Station, said the victims were on their way to work when the accident happened.

Javier said that Delgado allegedly lost control over his car upon reaching a curved portion of the road.

The car swerved, hit a concrete barrier, and then fell into a canal, before it overturned, added Javier.

Javier said that Delgado and Pagcaliwagan were declared dead on arrival at a hospital, while Gamus was transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.
