BUTUAN CITY -- In an effort to extend services to professionals in far-flung areas, the regional office of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC -ROXlll) based here on Tuesday (Nov. 29) announced its mobile services in Northeastern Mindanao (The Caraga Region).
The said agency has started determining the areas that need services.
Initially, the PRC-ROXIII (Butuan) held a two-day mobile services in the town of Lanuza, in Pacific Ocean facing province of Surigao del Sur.
“We are moving out in an objective to provide on-site services to professionals who are finding it difficult to travel to our regional office here (Butuan City),” a top PRC official told The Manila Bulletin on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
The two-day (Nov. 21-22) mobile service was also in response to the request made by Lanuza town Mayor Marvin T. Azarcon in celebration of the 20th Lanuza Surfing Festival.
“We are glad that the PRC Regional Office thru Regional Director Cheryll P. Elicano responded to our request and was able to accommodate our professionals,” said Mayor Azarcon.
“Your presence here in our municipality means so much as it mitigates expenses of my constituents in the processing of their PRC licenses and certificates,” the town’s chief executive added.
“We look forward to a yearly engagement with PRC RO XIII,” said Mayor Azarcon.
During the mobile service, PRC personnel accommodated, 1. Initial Registration for Licensure Examination of Passers, Renewal of Professional Identification Card, 2. Release of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration (per prior request by the professional and subject to availability), 3. Issuance of Certifications of Good Standing, Report of Rating and Passing, 4. Authentication of PRC documents (Certifications, PRC ID Card, Certificate of Registration), and 5. Application for licensure examinations. A total of 222 initial registration, renewal and duplicate of PIC and 376 certifications were processed.
