BTS’ Jungkook scores another first on music charts with ‘Dreamers’ FIFA World Cup song 


Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS member Jungkook achieved another feat with “Dreamers,” the main song in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 official soundtrack.

Billboard and Spotify announced on Nov. 29 that Jungkook’s “Dreamers” have placed first on music charts.

According to Billboard, “Dreamers” is No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart for this week.

Spotify Charts announced that “Dreamers” debuted at No. 1 on the Top Songs Debut USA and Top Songs Debut Global for Nov. 25 to 27.

“We’re loving #FIFAKOOK 2022. #Jungkook’s #FIFAWorldCup single #Dreamers debuts at #1 in the USA #SpotifyCharts,” Spotify Charts tweeted.

Jungkook’s “Dreamers” debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Global Excl. US and No. 9 on the Global 200 to become “the first member of BTS to have scored two solo top 10s on each tally.”

According to Billboard, the No. 9 slot for “Dreamers” on the Global 200 was “with 42.7 million streams and 48,000 downloads sold worldwide from its Nov. 20 release through Nov. 24.”

“Jungkook helped build the song’s profile with a performance of it during the soccer tournament’s opening ceremony Nov. 20, while the song’s official video premiered Nov. 22,” it added.

According to Billboard, “The two global charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.”

The official music video for Jungkook’s “Dreamers” has garnered 37.79 million views on YouTube as of this writing since its release on Nov. 22.
