RJ Abarrientos regains deadly form as Ulsan gets back on track


RJ Abarrientos finally regained his deadly scoring ways as Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus destroyed Jeoju KCC Egis, 85-68, in the Korean Basketball League on Saturday, Nov. 26.

The former Far Eastern University standout fired five triples to finish with 22 points apart from his seven rebounds and five assists to help his team get back on track and improve to a 9-5 record good for the second spot of the standings.

It was the best game for Abarrientos since his return after missing a couple of games due to an ankle injury. Wooseok Lee provided support with 20 points while Gaige Prim added a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Also coming out triumphant were Rhenz Abando and his Anyang KGC which took down Goyang Carrot Jumpers 86-79.

Abando played limited with 15 minutes of action on the floor, finishing five points on a 1-of-6 shooting apart from the three rebounds. Omari Spellman led the charge with 21 points and 15 rebounds while Byeon Jun Hyeong added 20 markers and five assists.

Justin Gutang also played sparingly in the Changwon LG Sakers’ 83-71 victory over Busan KTF Sonicboom. He had two points, four assists and five rebounds while import Assem Marei finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Ethan Alvano saw his 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds go down the drain as the Wonju DB Promy lost to Seoul SK Knights, 85-81. Jamil Woni showed the way for the Knights with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
