PH Red Cross conducts free medical missions in La Union, Bataan


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Health Caravan conducted a medical mission for 269 individuals in Barangay Ortiz in Naguilian, La Union last Nov. 25.

Among the services provided were medical check-ups, dental services, circumcision, blood typing, random blood sugar tests, and Covid-19 vaccination.

One hundred ten persons also received free medicines and vitamins, PRC said.

"PRC would like to thank our partners for helping us in reaching the most vulnerable: Local Government Unit of Naguilian), Municipal Health Office of Naguilian, Provincial Health Office, Bethany Hospital Inc., Philippine National Police Regional Forensic Unit I, Department of Health – CHD I, Philippine Nurses Association – La Union Chapter (Naguilian District Hospital), and Philippine Dental Association – La Union Chapter," PRC added.

PRC Heath Caravan also held a medical mission in Barangay Lamao in Limay, Bataan last Nov. 24 for 1,032 individuals.

The organization reported that over 4,000 individuals from different parts of the county already benefited from the initiative from Nov. 1 to 20.

PRC Health Caravan is a project which aims to bring medical aid close to people residing in the most vulnerable communities.

It also serves as an avenue for nurses and doctors who want to volunteer for the organization.

Twelve thousand Filipinos were given medical attention through the caravan since the start of 2022, PRC said.
