Christian Bables opens up on gender identity

Being able to successfully portray different gay characters, many are assuming Christian Bables is actually gay in real life.

But is he?

In Ogie Diaz's recent vlog, Christian set things straight.

“I identify as a straight guy, straight man. My preference and my attraction is with the opposite sex," he said.

Not that he isn't open to the possibility of him falling for someone of the same gender as he is.

Seemingly tired of the continued prodding, Christian took to Twitter to further discuss the matter.

Ok to set the record straight, TOMBOY po ako. Kung hindi pa kayo maniwala, ewan ko nlng mga hinayupak kayo. Good night mga vuhkla."

"Kidding aside, mami naman! 2023 na! Sana mag evolve kasama ng panahon ang brains natin. What you’re doing, my friends, is GENDER STEREOTYPING. Ibig sabihin naka kahon parin kayo sa nakaugaliang standards ng kung ano “lang” dapat ang kilos at itsura ng lalaki at babae. Salot yan."

He continued, "This will be the LAST time na papatulan ko ang kamangmangan na ito... Don’t ask for an explanation coz the world doesn’t revolve around you and your ego. Basta wag kakalimutang rumespeto. Piliing umunawa kesa sa makapanakit. Oki?"

"Imagine how excruciating it is for someone to be mocked and to be made a laughing stock, just because of their looks and their made up as a person na hindi pumasa sa standards at ego ng mga kagaya mong utak munggo. Itigil mo yan. Para bago ka mamatay, fresh ka gag*."

As to him being able to pull off gay characters with aplomb, he said: "Anong gagawin ko? Hindi ko nalang gagalingan sa mga roles na binibigay sakin para lang pumasok sa standards mo ng pagiging straight na animal ka? Nope. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN. Watch Signal Rock on Netflix. Sarap mong takungin sa cornea eh."

Many aren't convinced.

One replied: "Just say you're straight, if you are."

Christian answered: "Why the need to say it? Paki ng kung sino man? The thing is one’s GENDER is none if anyone’s business, unless interesado kang pumasok sa buhay ng taong yun bilang girlfriend/boyfriend niya. ONE’S IDENTITY SHOULD NEVER BE EXPLAINED, yang punto na yan ang gawin nating straight."

Another added: "Ang taray mo naman kasi for a straight guy wc is refreshing really kasi nga stereotype din ng mga cis males na hindi magtaray. Mabuhay ka mr bables and hone your craft more."

He responded: "Hmmm hindi siguro mataray kasi hindi naman ako naka irap habang tinu-tweet ko to. But kidding aside, I think I just became tired of these nakakagag*ng gender stereotyping na ginagamit parin ng mga marites para magkaron sila ng pag uusapan at kukutyain. Hell no."

On the other hand, an online user pointed out it’s about people wanting to know more of the actor.

"It setting expectations depending on your honest confirmation about your gender expression. People tend to match. Give them."

But Christian doesn't agree.

He maintained: "Nope. THIS. IS. NOT. THE. CASE. Review. And see if tama ang sinasabi mo. See how twisted these people are. Do not sugar coat nor validate the Marites. Kaya dumadami eh. Gusto nila malaman kung bakla/tomboy or straight ang isang tao, dahil gusto nila makapang husga. Yun yon. And ang galing ko dahil hindi ko alam kung papano ko naintindihan tong tweet mo."

Among Christians' projects are the likes of “Die Beautiful,” “Panti Sisters” and “Big Night.”
