Debut EP for 2OFU by Rangga Jones and Shye out now

The three-track debut EP of 2OFU – a group formed by two of Singapore’s most prominent up-and-coming independent acts Rangga Jones and Shye – is a mood for listeners who are going through existential problems.

The focus single ‘I Wanna Be A Kid Again’ follows the success of their teaser single ‘We’ll Be Alright’ that was released late October. ‘I Wanna Be A Kid Again’ sheds light on the duo’s frustrations as they attempt to figure out the extent to which adulting is an expectation that has been put upon from others instead of an actual responsibility that we know is an inevitable part of growing up.

Rangga Jones and Shye

Rangga and Shye tap into the nostalgia of their childhood for fair context to map out the difference for themselves – all encapsulated into a huge alternative pop track reminiscent of 2000s emo pop-punk.

The third and final song of the EP is titled ‘This Is How It Ends’ – a track that brings the listeners on a journey through a failed relationship that just could not work out. Not every relationship is all ‘sunshines and roses’ and this track assures listeners that it’s alright to pull the plug on a connection, especially when it’s causing more hurt than comfort.

2OFU’s self-titled debut EP is now out on all digital streaming platforms.
