Jin pleads with BTS ARMYs not to come on his enlistment date

K-pop idol group BTS member Jin has urged fans not to go to the training camp where he is enlisting next due to safety concerns.

This after Korean media reported that Jin, the oldest member of BTS, will be enlisting on Dec. 13.

The reports added that Jin will enter the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province in South Korea at 2 p.m., the usual time that Korean military training centers open their doors to hundreds of recruits.

He will receive five weeks of basic military training before he is deployed as an active-duty soldier to a frontline unit, referring to a unit near the border of South Korea and North Korea.

After the news reports came out, Jin took to the Weverse app to urge fans not to go to the training center to see him off.

“The article I didn't want was published, but our ARMYs, you can't come to the training center. There are many people besides me, so it can be crowded and dangerous. ARMYs, I love you,” said Jin.

About Jin’s enlistment, Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, said, “It is difficult to confirm. We ask for your understanding.”

Another Korean media outlet reported on Nov. 24 that BTS members will be outside the training camp on the day of Jin’s enlistment.

The report quoted military and industry representatives that BTS members have told the military that they want to support Jin’s enlistment and they will be near the training camp on Dec. 13.

"On the day of Jin's enlistment, fans and enlisting persons may mix and cause safety accidents, so we are cooperating with the agency on plans and routes," the sources reportedly said.

Jin, who is turning 30 on Dec. 4, is expected to fulfill his military service for 18 months.

He earlier revealed that he would be deployed to the frontline when he was asked by a fan.

"It's your birthday next month! Are you excited?" a fan asked him and he replied, “Not really... I'm appointed to the front-line," SBS News reported.

Fans are worried that Jin will be enlisting in the winter with his training being done under harsh weather conditions.

Big Hit Music announced that after their military service, all BTS members will regroup as a whole in 2025.
