P12-M shabu seized in Cebu City buy-bust

CEBU CITY – Police seized shabu worth over P12 million stuffed in Chinese tea packs from two suspected drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Inayawan here on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, director of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO 7), identified the suspects as Alexander Luy Ponce, 31, of Barangay Poblacion Pardo, this city, and Jessie Sabejon Abadiano, 31, of Barangay Bulacao here.

Alba said the suspects are considered high-value individuals.

Seized from the suspects were 1.8 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P12,274,000.

Alba commended the Cebu City Police Office Station 7 for the successful anti-illegal drug operation.

“We will continue to follow up on leads and make more arrests in the coming days. We are committed to continuing this drug war up to the end,” Alba said.

Charges for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 26, Article II, of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects, Alba said.
