Our Lady of Piat to make parish visit

The Devotees of Nuestra Señora de Piat Foundation announced that the image of Our Lady of Piat will have a parish visit to St. Francis Church in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City on Dec. 2 to 4.

The arrival mass at St. Francis Church will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, at 5:30 p.m. Also, there will be masses at 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.

A farewell mass will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 a.m. before the image of Our Lady of Piat is transferred to Intramuros in Manila for the annual grand Marian procession.

The devotees were also encouraged to participate in the annual grand Marian procession which is the "gathering of pilgrims from Central Luzon, Northern provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, the Ilocos region, other nearby cities and provinces."

To note, the Our Lady of Piat is also known as Nuestra Señora de Visitación. The image was brought from Macau to Lal-lo, Cagayan by Spanish Dominican missionaries in 1604.

The image of Our Lady of Piat is enshrined at the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Piat in the municipality of Piat, Cagayan. The Feast Day of Our Lady of Piat is annually celebrated every July 2.
