The city government said each NAVOTAAS arts and sports scholar will receive a transportation and food allowance worth P16,500 per academic year.
It said that the scholars will also undergo workshops and training worth P20,000 per academic year.
The event was also attended by some officers from Navotas Schools Division Office (SDO) and the families of the new scholars.
Mayor Tiangco said he wants the residents to experience a higher quality of education.
He said he expects the participation of the Navoteños to implement the aspirations of the city.
"Lalong lalo na po ang mga kabataan, nawa ay patuloy nilang tangkilin ang mga adhikain ng ating pamahalaang lungsod (Especially the youth, may they continue to support the aspirations of our city government)," said Tiangco.
The mayor also expressed his gratitude to the scholars who made it to the city's list of scholars.
"Gawin lang po natin iyong dapat natin gawin. Marami pa po tayong programa sa ating pamahalaang lungsod. Muli, congratulations po sa ating lahat (Let's just do what we have to do. We still have many programs in our city government. Once again, congratulations to all of us)," he added.
