BTS’ Jungkook takes center stage at FIFA World Cup Qatar opening ceremony 


Jungkook, the youngest member of Grammy nominee and K-pop powerhouse BTS, took center stage at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. 

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 officially started on Nov. 20 at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Jungkook performed “Dreamers,” a song included in the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup. He was joined by Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi in the performance. 

The official soundtrack of the games has several songs and features international artists including Jungkook. 

Other songs are “Hayya Hayya (Better Together)” by Trinidad Cardona, Davido, and Aisha; “Arhbo” by Ozuna featuring GIMS; and “Light the Sky” by Rahma, Balqees, Nora and Manal.

“What a performance Jung Kook!” posted the FIFA World Cup account on Instagram. 

Jungkook is the first Korean singer to sing the official World Cup theme song. The opening ceremony ran for about 30 minutes with “Dreamers” as the main performance.
