LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Pangasinan State University will host the first-ever Philippine Salt Congress from Nov. 26 to 27 at the Sison Auditorium Capitol Complex here.
Paulo Cenas, PSU Vice President for Research, Extension, Innovation, Gender, and Development and conference chairman, said the event with the theme "Recognizing the Salt Industry Towards Salt-Sufficient Philippines" aims to ignite the wheel of innovation and revive the salt industry.
Cenas added the congress will serve as a hallmark of the university’s leadership in the development of salt processing and management through quality research, extension, and innovation programs and will put the salt industry back on the map towards national recognition.
He said it also will put current researches and technological developments on salt production into the limelight and will provide avenue for various stakeholders to collaborate towards a productive, innovative, competitive, and resilient Philippine salt industry.
PSU has invited Kabayan party-list Rep. Ron Salo as speaker. Salo will discuss House Bill No. 1976, also known as the Philippine Salt Industry Development Act.
"We look forward to your attendance to the said affair. We believe that your pivotal role and continuous support in uplifting the salt industry through this policy initiative have provided momentum and will push further our collective actions towards productive, innovative, and resilient salt industry," Cenas told Salo.
