MB Daily News Update: US VP Harris arrives in Manila Sunday

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. returned from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday night, Nov. 19, 2022, where he opened doors to the Philippines on issues of better conditions for Filipino migrant workers, a more resolute climate change action, and alternative energy sources.

Meanwhile, also coming straight from the APEC Summit, United States Vice President Kamala Harris is set to arrive in the country Sunday night for bilateral talks with Marcos and her Philippine counterpart Sara Duterte, and a visit to Palawan.

Also on Sunday night, the Ultra Lotto jackpot of P254 million will be up for grabs, a bonanza that has eluded winners in the last few weeks.

An inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is causing rain showers over Luzon and Visayas.

Details of these major reports are in MB’s roster of stories this Sunday afternoon, Nov. 20, 2022.

ANGONO’S GIANTS – The famous Higantes (Giants) of Angono are welcomed back on the streets of the Rizal town on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, after a two-year absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The annual Higantes Festival started as a form of protest by Filipinos against the abuses of Spanish colonizers in the 1800s. (Noel B. Pabalate)
