DOT chief lauds North Luzon for logging 3.8M tourists

Tourism in the northern part of Luzon has reached over 3.8 million tourists since January this year, the Department of Tourism (DOT) disclosed on Sunday, Nov. 20.

DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the high tourism arrival in Northern Luzon alone would make it easier for the department to attain the 9.6 million tourist arrivals target before the year ends.

"And while recently we have reopened our country to international travel, I can see that we are well on our way to recovery because you are well on our way to the 9.6 million arrivals that you had in this side of the country prior to the pandemic," Frasco noted.

"The Philippines is open, the Philippines is ready to receive tourists and investments all over the world, and North Luzon is ready to lead the way and light up the Northern Philippines," she said.

During the event, Frasco congratulated North Luzon for logging 3.8 million visitors from both domestic and foreign tourists as of Nov. 18.
