LOOK: APEC leaders rub elbows with Arroyo

House Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is part of the Philippines' official delegation to the ongoing Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Bangkok, Thailand.

A former Philippine president from 2001 to 2010, Arroyo is easily the most experienced official accompanying President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. in his maiden participation at the APEC Summit.

It's no wonder then that Arroyo is a familiar face to some leaders of the attending APEC economies.

Two of these leaders are Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Brunei Darussalam Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah. Loong has been prime minister since 2004, while Bolkiah has been the Sultan since 1967.

But relatively new heads-of-state, like Vietnam President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, also want to rub elbows with Arroyo.

Arroyo, 75, is also a former House Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives.
