Mayor Honey meets with regional nutrition group to discuss Nutrition Shepherding Project

Members of the Regional Nutrition Shepherding Team (RNST) of the National Capital Region (NCR) paid a courtesy visit to Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Tuesday, Nov. 15, to discuss the Nutrition Shepherding Project.

National Nutrition Council - NCR Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Milagros Elisa Federizo handed over the Certificate of Appreciation to Lacuna at the Manila City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 15, for the city’s active participation in the 2022 Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Pro and its support to the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN).

The RNST also oriented the city mayor on the details of the project and discussed the city's nutritional status.

They also talked about how the Nutrition Shepherding Project will help in improving the management of nutrition programs in the city which will result in improved nutritional status.

Lacuna aims to have a high standard of Health and Nutrition Status in the City of Manila by 2030.

Manila is among the priority areas of the project.

City Nutrition Action Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan and members of the nutrition secretariat were also present in the meeting.
