PDEA seizes P3.4-M worth of shabu in QC buy-bust

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 12, some P3.4 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.

In a report released on Nov. 13, the PDEA said the suspect Mansawi Lala, 38, was arrested after selling 500 grams of shabu to an undercover agent at the boundary of Barangays Santo Cristo and Bagong Pag-asa.

Authorities said they subjected the suspect to a surveillance for months prior to his arrest.

Aside from suspected shabu, the PDEA agents confiscated the suspect’s identification card (ID) and genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.

Lala faces charges for violation of Section 5 (sale, trading, administration, dispensation, delivery, distribution and transportation of dangerous drugs and/or controlled precursors and essential chemicals), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165. (Chito A. Chavez)
