Fire hits tobacco company warehouse in Isabela


CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela – The warehouse of Isabela Leaf Company Inc. on Chancellor Ave. District 1, this city, was hit by a fire on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Four fire trucks helped to put out the blaze that lasted until 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Reports said the fire broke out at around 5 p.m. in the section where tobacco leaves were being dried.

Nobody was injured as employees immediately got out before thick smoke engulfed the warehouse.

The cause of the fire is a mystery to the owner who said there is no electrical connection inside the warehouse.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire and damage to property.
