Carla Abellana on Tom Rodriguez: 'Hindi ko kakayaning kausapin siya'

How's your heart? Are you still in pain? Do you still love Tom? Will you answer his call if ever?

These are some of the questions that Nelson Canlas recently asked actress Carla Abellana in relation to her much publicized split with Tom Rodriguez.

Carla feels that she actually lost her heart along the way.

"Hind ko alam kung na saan yung heart ko, nawawala," was how she put it. "Sa dami ng pinagdaanan ng puso (ko) dapat alagaan parang ganun, so inaalagaan ko. Inaalagaan ko yung sarili kong heart."

As for the pain, she still feels it.

"I won't even hesitate to answer and say yes, definitely," she said. "But ang pain kasi doesn't disappear overnight. Gustuhin mo mang mawala na yung pain, it's, in a way, something you cannot control."

"Ako, I recognized it enough na nandiyan pa, definitely. Nandiyan pa siya. Ayoko namang sabihing wala na kasi hindi totoo yun. So definitely, nandyan yan. Matagal pa yung proseso."

In fact, she noted how it doesn't feel like she and Tom are already divorced.

"Number one kasi divorce doesn't exist in the Philippines. Dahil ang foreign nung divorce - wala kasi sa atin; hindi pina-practice dito - parang hindi pa siya fully nag si-sink in," she related.

"Siguro mas duon pa siya mag-sink in sa akin, pag siguro dito na proseso or dito na na asikaso at na recognize na siya ng Philippine court."

According to her, the last time he saw Tom was in February. And since then, the latter has not reached out to her.

If ever, Carla said she won't be able to muster the courage to actually talk to her former husband.

"At this point parang hindi ko kakayanin. Parang if ever he calls hindi ko kakayaning kausapin siya."

How about her love for Tom, whom she has been with for almost a decade?

"Honestly, hindi ko masasagot na yes or no. Like I said yung love naman hindi siya nag-di-disappear or hindi mo nababawasan ng kusa."
