“It's his first career solo entry on the chart,” according to a tweet by Billboard Charts.

The Billboard Hot 100 chart is based on “US streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data.”

In addition, Jin has entered other Billboard charts.

“The Astronaut” grabbed the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales and World Digital Song Sales charts.

It also debuted at No. 6 on Billboard’s Global Excl. US and No. 10 on the Global 200.

“The two charts, which began in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S,” explained Billboard.

For the Global 200, Jin’s “The Astronaut” garnered 48.3 million streams and 62,000 in global sales in the first week.

“Jin becomes the third member of BTS to chart solo in the Global 200’s top 10, as well as the first to achieve the feat in a lead role,” Billboard reported.

On the Global Excl. US chart, “The Astronaut” recorded 43.5 million streams and 43,000 in sales outside the US.

In South Korea, “The Astronaut” topped Hanteo Chart’s weekly album chart for two consecutive weeks.

“The Astronaut” sold 770,126 copies in the first week of release based on Hanteo data.

It first topped Hanteo’s weekly album chart from Oct. 24 to 30 with 716,584 copies sold.

“The Astronaut” again grabbed the No. 1 spot on the same weekly chart covering the period Oct. 31 to Nov. 6 with 67,822 copies sold, or equivalent to 77,995 in physical record index, which incorporates the price of the album in the ranking.
