The Pasig City local government, through the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), will begin distributing benefit cash cards to senior citizens for the third batch starting on Monday, Nov. 7, until Friday, Nov. 25.
The distribution will take place primarily at the Land Bank branches at C. Raymundo and the Pasig City Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Other venues will be set especially in barangays wherein many cash cards will need to be distributed.
OSCA will distribute a total of 5,412 benefit cash ATM cards, comprising of 4,618 green cards, and 794 blue cards.
The green cards will be for seniors who applied for the cash cards last 2021 and were validated this 2022.
The blue cards are for those who were unable to claim their cash cards for the first and second batches of distribution. They must also be part of the validated seniors list for 2022.
To prevent long queues, OSCA urges beneficiaries to check the validated lists per barangays if they are qualified to receive the cash gifts for this rollout. The cards will be given strictly to those who belong on the list.
Seniors who applied for the cash cards this 2022 will receive their cash gifts through manual distribution. The schedules will be announced at a later date.
Senior claimants are required to bring their original senior ID, and a photocopy of their validated senior ID.
For family representatives who will claim the senior citizens' cards, the original senior ID and photocopy of the validated senior ID must be presented, along with proof of life and an authorization letter signed by the senior citizen. A thumb mark may be placed on the letter in lieu of the signature. The representative must also bring a photocopy of their own government-issued ID.
If the claimant of the cash card is a non-family representative, they are asked to proceed to the OSCA Operations Center located at the 4th floor of the Pasig City Hall to request a "Non-Family Representative Clearance Form."
They may also look for Ms. Gerina Labao at the OSCA Operations Center for any concerns and inquiries regarding the validated lists.
The local government encourages senior beneficiaries to wear their face masks, sanitize, drink plenty of water, and bring their own ballpens when they claim their cards.
Other details on the claiming procedures and schedules may be viewed on the official social media pages of the Pasig Public Information Office (PIO).
The OSCA has been aiming to give financial assistance to senior citizens in more convenient and accessible ways such as providing ATM cash cards.
With the cards, seniors can simply withdraw the cash needed at their nearest Landbank branches.
Previously, the OSCA distributed the first batch of cash cards in 2020 and the second batch in early 2021.
