Popular mall in Cagayan lights up Christmas centerpiece

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A popular mall here recently unveiled its Christmas display at the atrium with Mayor Maila Ting Que and Councilor Tirso Mangada gracing the occasion.

The SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown revealed a giant 35-foot tall Victorian glass house embellished with snow frosting and surrounded by Christmas trees with bright lights, gift boxes, and snow-covered flamingos.

In addition, SMTD launched an art exhibit dubbed “100 Days of Happiness Campaign” along with partners the Cagayano Artists Group, local government units, and the League of Indispensable Neo Youth Artists that will benefit children with disabilities and farmers in this province.

“Apart from the idea that we are bringing closer to the Cagayanos a winter wonderland vibe to make them feel that there’s a snow place like home here at SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown, we also want to make a circle of happiness among Cagayanos. With this, we opened an art for a cause exhibit here in our mall," assistant mall manager Romel S. Uy said.

"The different visual artists from Cagayan voluntarily participated and contributed their amazing original artworks for this campaign. Twenty percent of the proceeds will directly go to the chosen beneficiary. So, we invite all to visit our exhibit which will run until Dec. 30," Uy added.
