The Apostolic Vicariates of Taytay and Puerto Princesa in Palawan are holding activities for the observance of the 400 Years of Christianity in the province which ends next year.
The pilgrimage to the different churches in the vicariate of the 400 YOC Jubilee Cross is ongoing. A special prayer has also been released for the celebration to help spread awareness on the arrival and blessing of Christianity in Palawan 400 years ago. The official theme song “Kristiyanismo sa Palawan” has also been released.
Church leaders in Palawan led by Taytay Bishop Broderick Pabillo and Puerto Princesa Bishop Socrates Mesiona call on the faithful to seek the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit in order to continue with the mission to spread the Good News in every community in Palawan.
“Seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother as well to deepen your faith and to pass it on to the next generation,” the bishops said.
The Apostolic Vicariates of Taytay and Puerto Princesa opened the year-long celebration of the 400 YOC in Palawan on Aug. 28, 2022 at the St. Augustine Parish in Cuyo Island where foreign missionaries first introduced Christianity to the province. The observance culminates in August 2023 with a two-day conference in Puerto Princesa.
