AirAsia PH regains pre-pandemic frequency

AirAsia Philippines’ domestic flight frequency in its Manila hub is now 100 percent back to pre-pandemic levels, the budget carrier announced Thursday, November 3.

Its expects to regain 100 percent of its pre-pandemic flight frequency to international destinations by the first half of 2023.

So far, the monthly load factor of AirAsia Philippines for its ASEAN destinations averaged 80 percent in the third quarter of this year.

The number is expected to rise before end-year, especially with the increase of AirAsia’s frequency to some of its international routes.

Starting this November, the budget carrier will fly 11x weekly for Manila-Bangkok and 4x weekly for Cebu-Seoul.

By December, it will fly 3x weekly from Manila-Hong Kong.

“We are determined to achieve 100 percent of our pre-pandemic flight frequency to international destinations by the first half of 2023," AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla reiterated.

"Having observed the high travel confidence of Filipinos in the new normal in our own domestic operations, we are optimistic that with more relaxed border protocols abroad, we will see outbound tourism rebound significantly by early next year," he elaborated.

"We aim to propel this with promos that further make our flights attainable.”

The top international destinations of AirAsia based on average monthly seat sales from January to September in order of ranking are Manila-Seoul, Manila-Bangkok, Manila-Kuala Lumpur, Manila-Singapore, and Manila-Bali.

Recently, the airline added Taipei and Osaka to its roster of active international routes.

AirAsia Philippines has slashed the base fare for nine overseas flights to P411 until November 06.

Guests who avail of the promo can book travels from November 2, 2022 to September 30, 2023 via the airasia Super App.
