1,256 San Pedro residents remain in evacuation centers; clearing operations continue


SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna – More than 1,000 residents are still staying in 10 evacuation centers here days after the onslaught of severe tropical storm "Paeng."

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Nov. 2, the San Pedro City Public Affairs and Information Office said 311 families or 1,256 individuals continue to seek shelter in evacuation centers within the city.

Evacuees are provided with hot meals and relief goods. All evacuation centers are being monitored 24/7 by camp managers and city staff.

The local government unit, meanwhile, continues its clearing operations in areas covered with sludge and debris after the flood.

Barangay workers and volunteer residents joined the clean-up drives in Barangays San Antonio, Cuyab, San Roque and Sto. Niño, as well as in Cuyab Main Road, Ma. Aurora Heights, and Elvinda 7.
