Spooky characters line up along Antipolo roadside for Halloween

Horror movie characters lined up along a roadside in Antipolo City on Halloween to scare motorists and passersby including kids who came from their “trick or treat” hopping in nearby villages.

Mythical creatures such as "manananggal" and "aswang" would stare at motorists who were stopping by to take a closer look at the Halloween activity sponsored by a local politician.

A lady with a bloodied face, dressed as a beauty queen with a crown, would turn her head towards the motorist as if attempting to come closer to the vehicle.

Part of the scarers’ group activity was the giving of treats to passersby, especially kids who are in their Halloween costumes and makeup.

The Halloween event, which was cool to some, also caused traffic along Marigman Road in Barangay San Roque as motorists would stop to take pictures of the characters.

The Marigman Road is a path lined with a row of trees, making the place an Instagram-worthy spot for photographers.

However, some motorists, including this reporter and passersby may find the road creepy at times as the place is dark at night.

Some sources say that a compound in that place, which is owned by a prominent family, is still haunted as mythical creatures such as “tikbalang”and “kapre”, along with a white lady, continue to make their presence felt.
