PNP assures support to 65 personnel affected by 'Paeng' in BARMM


The leadership of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured assistance to it 65 personnel at the Police Regional Office- Bangsamoro Autonomous Region who were affected by severe tropical storm "Paeng".

Police Col. Redrico Maranan, chief of the PNP-Public Information Office, said the move is part of the PNP's program of taking care of both uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, especially in times of need.

Maguindanao and several areas in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) were among those severely hit by the onslaught of "Paeng" through landslides and widespread flooding.

In Maguindanao for instance, more than 100 houses in a barangay located near the boundary of Datu Odin Sinsuat and Datu Blah Sinsuat were buried in mud. At least 67 dead were reported dead in the province of Maguindanao.

Citing PNP data, Maranan said there were 65 PNP personnel in the region that were affected by "Paeng"-- two were assigned in the Regional Headquarters, six in Maguindanao Police Provincial Office and 57 from Regional Mobile Forces Battalion.

Maranan also revealed that based on their assessment and monitoring, there were no police stations, offices and equipment damaged by the weather disturbance.
