Businessman in Baguio nabbed after raid of house yields 299 sticks of dynamite


BAGUIO CITY – Police arrested a 52-year-old businessman after a raid of his house here on Friday afternoon, Oct. 28, yielded 299 sticks of dynamite.

Also recovered from the house of Absolum Pangdaw Bautista were a 25-kilo sack of ammonium nitrate and fuel oil and 200 blasting caps.

The search operation was covered by a warrant issued by Judge Maria Ligaya V. Itliong-Rivera of the Baguio City Regional Trial Court Branch 5.

Bautista faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).

The recovered explosives and components have been taken to the Baguio City Police Station 9 (Irisan).

Inventory of pieces of evidence was done onsite in the presence of the suspect and witnessed by Barangay Chairman Arthur Carlos and Barangay Kagawad (councilor) Nestor Kindipan.
