CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Five individuals were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Apayao and Baguio City on Thursday, Oct. 27.
BGen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, identified the arrested suspects as Rosemarie Guitierrez, 27; Silvino Calawag, 60; Cristina Escopete, 35; Steven Donne, 27; and Jason Prodon, 32.
In Apayao, Calawag and Guitierrez were arrested by operatives of the Apayao Police Provincial Office after they sold four pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 3.393 grams of shabu with standard drug rice of P23,072.40.
In a separate operation in Baguio City, Escopete, Donne, and Prodon were arrested by operatives of the Baguio City Police Office after they sold to an operative eight pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing six grams of shabu with SDP of 40,800.
Markings and inventories of the pieces of evidence recovered were done on-site in the presence of the arrested suspects and witnessed by representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), media, and elected barangay officials.
The suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought into the custody of the concerned operating units for documentation and proper disposition.
