Pasay mayor issues EO for observance of 'Undas'


Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano issued an executive order covering visits to cemeteries for the safe observance of “Undas 2022” to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Rubiano said those without vaccine cards will be prohibited from entering cemeteries and minors will not be allowed unless they are accompanied by vaccinated guardians.

Those with symptoms, persons with immunodeficiency, comorbidities and health risk are also prohibited from entering cemeteries.

The mayor said that residents in District I are advised to visit their departed families and relatives in the morning while District II residents will be in the afternoon to avoid congestion.

Rubiano said public visitation from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 will be from 6 a.m. to midnight only. The city government allowed the cleaning and refurbishing of niches from Oct. 17 up to 28 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. No burial and cremation will be allowed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

Offices at cemeteries will be opened on Nov. 1 and 2 to accept payments for real property tax for the niche and lot.

The city government reminded the public to follow health protocols, particularly the EMI (Ensure to always wash your hands, Mask is a must, and Implement physical distancing) habit.
