Arms cache discovered in Pampanga; three CTG members surrender


CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Authorities discovered cache of weapons and war materials as three former Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members voluntarily surrendered on Thursday, Oct. 20.

A belated report said police authorities in Porac, Floridablanca, Sta. Rita, and Pampanga Intelligence Unit discovered arms cache composed of one unit caliber .45 pistol with six ammunition, a caliber .38 revolver with two ammunition, grenade hand fragmentation MK2 (explosive), four 40 millimeter high explosive, and two detonating cord in an undisclosed location in Pampanga.

The discovery of the arms and war materials happened just as three former CTG members, namely, Ka Bilo, Ka Amang, and Ka Oscar, surrendered to the authorities.

Ka Bilo was a former member of Samahan ng mga Magkakapitbahay (SAMAKA), an Underground Mass Organization (UGMO), while Ka Amang was a former member of Militiang Bayan who was liaison officer for the armed group.

The third one, alias Ka Oscar was a former member of CPP-NPA under the command of Ka Edong and Ka Gorio.

He voluntarily surrendered to personnel of Gen. Natividad Police Station together with other concerned units and turned over a Caliber .38 revolver.

Police Regional Office 3 Director PBGEN Cesar Pasiwen said that the latest recovery of the arms cache further incapacitates the CTG's logistics.

He also commended the troops for successfully implementing Executive Order 70, which aims to end the local communist armed conflict.
