Mandaluyong LGU distributes school supplies, hygiene kits to city's day care students


The Mandaluyong City local government on Wednesday, Oct. 19, distributed school supplies and hygiene kits to over 2,000 day care students in a barangay in the city as part of its efforts to improve the city youth's quality of learning.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Ben Abalos, together with other city government officials, led the distribution of the school supplies and hygiene kits to 2,650 day-care students of Barangay Addition Hills which included bags, coloring materials and books, notebooks, and other school essentials.

"Ating paalala sa mga magulang, mga guro, at sa ating komunidad na magkaisa tayo sa paghubog sa kaisipan at magandang pag-uugali ng ating mga kabataan (This is a reminder to all parents, teachers, and the whole community that we must all unite in molding the minds and promoting good manners and right conduct among our youth)," Abalos said.

The city government started the turnover of the education materials to day care students on Oct. 6 in preparation for the return to face-to-face classes.

Vice President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte Carpio, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar Dr. Ali Ibrahim Al-Malki witnessed the turnover.

Aside from the distribution of the education materials, the Abalos administration also conducted a Parents' Effectiveness seminar conducted by the Daycare Service Program of the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) for all day care teachers in Mandaluyong.
