P2M reward for information on contractor’s killers in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The local government of Zamboanga is giving out a P2-million bounty for any information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects in the murder of contractor and retired policeman Alvin Perez.

“Rest assured that our security forces are on top of the situation, which is why I am offering a reward of P2 million for the pursuit of the person responsible for the ambush,” Mayor John Dalipe declared during the City Government flag raising ceremony on Monday, Oct. 17.

The mayor earlier condemned the attack on the contractor, who was also tagged as one of the staunchest political supporters of Dalipe and his brother, Congressman Mannix Dalipe.

Dalipe said that any information leading to the identification of the suspects may be given to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO).

Zamboanga City Police chief Col. Alexander Lorenzo bared last week the creation of Special Investigation Task Force Alvin Perez to investigate the incident.

The Police Regional Office-9 has identified the list of personnel who will work under the Special Investigation Task Force Alvin Perez that aims to speed up the probe on the shooting incident.

Perez was gunned down by four motorcycle riding suspects near his house in Divisoria, Zamboanga City on Thursday, Oct. 13, while his escort was wounded in the attack.
