Manila Water inaugurates washing facilities in Las Piñas schools

The city government of Las Piñas announced the inauguration of several washing facilities in seven schools to promote proper hygiene and sanitation practices among school children amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Vice-Mayor April Aguilar, the Manila Water Foundation, in collaboration with Procter &Gamble’s Safeguard Philippines, donated and inaugurated several washing facilities in seven schools in the city.

Aguilar said around 26,000 students will benefit from the donation.

She said the project is in support of the WASH in schools or WinS program of the Department of Education (DepEd).

The vice-mayor said the program is also part of the BIDA Kid Campaign of the Department of Health (DOH) which aims to strengthen health and safety protocols in schools for the ongoing expansion of face-to-face classes.

Aguilar said several donations of Safeguard handwashing liquid were made for use by the students.
