Gov. Fernando says criminals not welcome in Bulacan; activates tactical motorcycle riding unit

With Gov. Daniel Fernando's declaration that criminals are not welcome in Bulacan, the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO) on Monday, Oct. 17, activated its Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit (TMRU) at the parade ground of Camp General Alejo Santos, City of Malolos, to run after criminal syndicates.

Fernando said he will not allow crooks to make Bulacan their crime haven.

"Criminals are not welcome in Bulacan and they will be removed immediately," he added.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police officer-in-charge, said the activation of TMRU was made in order to thwart the number of incidents committed by lawless elements, which include robbery hold-ups and shooting incidents.

Arnedo said this will improve the police's capacity to respond to street crimes in a speedy manner while crippling the capabilities of motorcycle-riding offenders.

The chiefs of police in the cities and 21 municipalities in the province, as well as the force commanders of the 1st and 2nd Bulacan Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFC), will designate and deploy motorcycle cops to conduct patrols and maintain police presence along major thoroughfares in the province.

"This will utilize rigorous countermeasures to capture or prohibit criminals, including suspects riding in motorcycles, as well as their networks and support systems, from carrying out their nefarious activities," Arnedo said.

He said the Bulacan Police, in support of the Bulacan Provincial Government's program on the intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, is steadfast in launching counter-measures in its campaign against all forms of criminality while also ensuring the safety and protection of every Bulakenyo.
