BI nabs 2 American 'fugitives' in San Juan City, Rizal operations

Bureau of Immigration (BI) operatives have arrested two Americans wanted by US federal authorities for serious crimes.

BI Commissioner Norman G. Tansingco said the agency's fugitive search unit (FSU) nabbed Teresita Kindle, 57; and Virgilio Carigma Cruz, 67, at their residence in Little Baguio, San Juan City and in Barangay San Pedro, Morong, Rizal, respectively.

Tansingco said he ordered the duo’s arrest at the request of the US authorities in Manila, adding "they will be deported and placed in our blacklist of undesirables to prevent them from returning."

FSU chief Rendell Ryan Sy said Kindle was charged with multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering before the US district court in Florida.

Sy said an arrest warrant was issued against Cruz by the superior court of New Jersey in February 2018 after he was indicted on illegal drugs charges.

They are currently detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City while awaiting deportation.
