The Caloocan City government said on Tuesday, Oct. 18, that there will be more than 6,000 job vacancies from several companies that job-seeking residents can apply for during the Mega Job Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 19.
The city government said the job fair will be held at the Bulwagang Katipunan on the third floor of the Caloocan City Hall-South.
It added that there will be a with a total of 6,364 vacant positions from different partner companies of the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) such as Concentrix, SM Hypermarket, SM Appliances, Puregold, and others. They will hire applicants for both training and full-time jobs.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said that hiring activities in the city shall be done year-round through the PESO’s local recruitment activities.
He added that the city government shall also conduct regular job fairs to help residents who are looking for jobs to connect with employers.
“Sa panahon ngayon, mahirap maghanap ng trabaho kaya’t inilalapit natin ang oportunidad sa ating mga kababayan. Buong taon, magsasagawa tayo ng local recruitment activities at hangga’t kakayanin, gagawin nating regular ang ating mega job fair para mas maraming taga-Caloocan ang mabigyan ng oportunidad na magka-trabaho ( Nowadays, it is difficult to find a job, so we are bringing the opportunity closer to our people. Throughout the year, we will conduct local recruitment activities and as much as possible, we will make our mega job fair regular so that more Caloocan citizens will have the opportunity to get a job),” Malapitan said.
According to the city government, interested applicants may bring copies of their resume, valid ID as proof of residence, and their vaccination cards.
There will be also be a One-Stop-Shop during the job fair where the applicants and the general public can get services from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and other government offices.
The activity will be the third Mega Job Fair under Mayor Malapitan’s term.
The first job fair was held at the SM Grand Central on Aug. 16, followed by the Mega Job Fair at the Caloocan Sports Complex on Aug. 26.
