Everything's coming up roses for Kapuso star Winwyn Marquez.
Just months after she gave birth to her first child, Luna, Winwyn was named the best actress at the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) in New York. She was praised for her role as a nurse in the movie "Nelia," an entry to the 2021 Metro Manila Film.
She has also finished shooting an advocacy movie entitled "Ligalig" with National Artist Nora Aunor under AQ Productions.
Winwyn, 30, considers her five-month-old daughter a lucky charm, during an interview with the entertainment press at the AQ Prime office in Quezon City over the weekend. "When she came into my life, ang gaganda ng mga nangyari sa akin pati sa career ko.
The daughter of actors Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez said that she couldn't believe she won an acting award. "I don't think I deserve that. Yun pa rin ang iniisip ko. Pero thankful ako na napansin kasi first time ko manalo ng acting award. Cloud Nine pa rin, and it doesn't mean na pagmanalo ka ng isang acting award, magiging relax ka na. I still have to prove locally na I'm a best actress."
Winwyn was taking care of her baby when she was informed about the award. "Parang nagpapatulog ako ng baby when I was told I won best actress. Naghehele ako ng daughter ko. I don't want to make a noise kasi baka magising ang baby ko."
The first person she informed about the award was her father. "Sabi niya, tutoo ba? Kahit na gaano pa karami ang awards mo, if you're still in showbiz at that age, it means you're doing something right. Sana yun din ang ma-achieve."
On being choosy with her roles, now that she won an acting trophy, the former beauty queen said: "Aminado naman ako na hindi ko talaga kaya ang sexy roles lalo na mother na ako ngayon.
On raising her talent fee, Winwyn commented: "Kung ano ang mapapagusapan. Kung ano ang ibibigay sa akin, okay na yun as long as the work is good."
Winwyn also said her partner is a private person who wants to stay away from the limelight. And I don’t think people should know kung ano ba ang ginagawa niya.”
Her friends joked that her partner is a deadringer for actor Paulo Avelino.
Winwyn also said that there were plans for them to get married soon. "Not yet, but there are plans. Sana kung ikakasal ako, I want my daughter to be walking already. So ang iniisip ko muna is ipon, ipon."
On reports that the guy has proposed, she said: "We're getting there. We have a daughter na and we're together. We have our own house.
Alma has assured fans that her daughter's partner is single when they got into a relationship.
AQ Prime President and CEO Atty. Aldwin Alegre congratulated Winwyn on her acting victory.
