Azurin leads PNP delegation to Interpol Conference in India


Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), flew to New Delhi in India to attend a three-day the International Police (interpol) conference.

Police Col. Redrico Maranan, chief of the PNP-Public Information Office, said Azurin will join his counterparts from 195 countries to discuss the fields of cooperation and interoperability in transnational crimes.

"The discussion will focus on collaboration and cooperation by member-countries on transnational crimes and policing on highly digitalized world," Maranan told the Manila Bulletin.

He said the 90th Interpol conference will be held from Oct. 18 to 21.

Maranan said Police Lt. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, the PNP's current number two man will serve as Officer-In-Charge of the PNP until the return of Azurin.
