CEBU CITY – Police arrested a 42-year-old woman and seized suspected shabu worth P34 million in a buy-bust operation in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on Friday afternoon, Oct. 14.
Led by Lt. Brigido Paca, the Intelligence Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office collared the suspect, Rosell Morales Arda, a resident of Barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion, Cebu, after she allegedly agreed to transact with a poseur-buyer.
The illegal drug weighed around five kilos and was placed inside plastic packs of a Chinese tea brand.
Police said Arda was considered a priority Top 10 high-value individual in Central Visayas for being capable of disposing one to two kilos of illegal drugs per week.
Her arrest was an offshoot of the July 9 anti-illegal operation in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City where a woman yielded at least 15 kilos shabu worth P102 million, police said.
Police said the suspect in the July 9 operation pointed to Arda as one of her alleged cohorts in the illegal drugs trade.
Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan and Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, newly installed director of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, rushed to the area where Arda was arrested.
