The Manila Cathedral announced that the faithful may offer prayers for their departed loved ones in its Blessed Souls Chapel in time for the commemoration of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

In a social media post, the Manila Cathedral will open its Blessed Souls Chapel from Oct. 14 until Nov. 9, 2022.

"The Blessed Souls Chapel inside the Manila Cathedral will be open to the public who may want to offer Mass intentions and light votive candles for the souls of the faithful departed," it stated.

The Manila Cathedral is open every day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Both the All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day–which are observed on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2, respectively, are important holidays for Filipinos as it is part of the tradition for them to offer prayers, flowers, and candles for their dearly departed.

In connection, the Department of Health (DOH) recently reminded the public to wear face masks and observe other health protocols when visiting cemeteries to protect themselves against the Covid-19 virus.
