Patrick Quiroz still silent on now viral sexual misconduct issue

Actor Patrick Quiroz is yet to issue a statement following allegations of sexual misconduct as hurled against him by fellow actor Rhys Miguel Eugenio.

This, even as the issue continues to gain ground on social media, with fans debating about it.

While there are those who are supportive of Miguel, there are some who are eager to give Patrick the benefit of doubt.

Some of the comments:

"Bakit ngayon lang daw nagsalita si Rhys about Patrick Quiroz. There's no such thing as too early or too late when disclosing your experience. Victims need to overcome the shame, fear, uncertainty, and guilt before finding the courage to talk about this traumatic incident."

"to those wishing that patrick quiroz assaulted them instead, y'all are sick & disgusting. is it bc he's good-looking? if it were someone not conventionally attractive, you'll scream bloody murder."

"This is what I am talking about, ilan pa bang mga nasa "lock-in tapings" ang mga pinatahimik when there were "sexual assaults" happening in this country?"

Note Patrick is among viral topics on Twitter as of writing.

Earlier, ABS-CBN already reacted on the matter, issuing a statement refuting Rhys' allegation that it didn't act on the matter when he reported Patrick Quiroz having assaulted him sexually.

According to ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (AFPI), it “immediately conducted an investigation” after they received Rhys’ complaint in December 2020 and “swiftly took appropriate action to protect the rights of everyone involved.”

“APFI takes these matters seriously. The safety, dignity, and privacy of our people are our utmost priority,” it added.

The whole issue exploded after Rhys took to Instagram Tuesday, October 12, to make public the matter.

According to him, Patrick molested him while they were in a lock-in taping of a certain project.

Rhys maintained he wasn't the only one.

This is seemingly supported by actor EJ Panganiban who took to social media to post: “Tinry niya din kami maging victim but he failed.”

Rhys is planning to take legal action.

“I have proof of everything, and I have multiple witnesses…. I’m probably gonna take him to court,” he said.
