Mayor: Ilagan City ready for ‘Maymay’


CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – Mayor Jay Diaz said this city is ready for tropical depression “Maymay.”

Diaz said they have prepared measures to achieve 100 percent zero casualties not only during Maymay but also for other natural calamities.

The mayor, represented by City Administrator Reynolds Lora, presided over a City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council meeting, together with the Committee Chairperson on Disaster Preparedness, to discuss the weather disturbance.

Butch Estavillo, CDRRMO head, said all Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMC) here have been alerted on Maymay.

Because of Maymay, classes and work on all levels in public and private schools were suspended on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
