The MDRRMO staff are on standby to receive calls from residents who would need help. The agency’s numbers are 09057511141 and 09959271119.

Also on standby for any eventuality amid Maymay’s possible surge are the members of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Office (PDRRMO) who are fresh from a three-day Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) training.

The said trainees belong to the Rescue 29 of Task Force Lingkod Cagayan (TFLC).

‘Maymay’ is now moving westward while maintaining its strength, based on the latest bulletin released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

As of 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, the center of ‘Maymay’ was estimated at 190 kms East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.3°N, 123.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.

It is moving westward at 10 km/h.

The state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms caused by ‘Maymay’ could be expected over Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.

Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy and intense rain could also happen.
