ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (AFPI) has issued a statement on the claims of actor Rhys Miguel Eugenio that he was allegedly sexually assaulted by a fellow actor during the lock-in filming of a series.

In a video statement Tuesday, Rhys Miguel identified the actor who allegedly assaulted him, but he did not name the title of the series being shot.

Rhys Miguel, 21, also alleged the lack of action of the company when he reported his traumatic incident.

AFPI said that it looked into the claims of Rhys in December 2020 and swiftly took action.

"The investigation was done a long time ago," an insider said.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Oct. 12, ABS-CBN Films said: "Contrary to the claims made by Rhys Miguel on 11 October 2022, ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (AFPI) immediately conducted an investigation upon receiving his complaint in December 2020 and swiftly took appropriate action to protect the rights of everyone involved.

"AFPI takes these matters seriously. The safety, dignity, and privacy of our people are our utmost priority."

Rhys Miguel alleged that other cast members suffered the same experience.

The people mentioned by Rhys in the video have yet to make a comment on the actor's viral revelations.

In 2019, Rhys Miguel rose to fame following his stint as a teen housemate in the “Otso” edition of the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother."
