In his message during the World Mental Health Day 2022 on Monday, Oct. 10, Marcos talked about mental health as among the concerns that must also be prioritized globally.

"Ang kalusugang pangkaisipan ay nararapat na maging bahagi ng mga prayoridad na usaping pandaigdigan - kasama ng climate change, kahirapan at kapayapaan (Mental health must be part of global priorities along with climate change, poverty, and peace)," Marcos said.

The President also encouraged the citizenry to support each other, especially now that the country recovers from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which, he said, also took a toll on people's mental health.

"Sa pinagdaanan nating krisis sa nakaraang dalawang taon, sinubok nang labis ang tatag ng ating isipan kaya’t ang pagmamalasakit at kabutihan sa kapwa ay kinakailangan ngayon higit kailanman (With the crisis we went through in the past two years, our mental toughness was challenged, so we need to be kind and compassionate now more than ever)," Marcos said.

"Maging maingat at suportahan natin ang isa't isa (Be cautious and support each other)," he concluded.

World Mental Health Day carried the slogan: Make mental health and well-being for all a global priority.
