TIAONG, Quezon – Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea here on Friday, Oct. 7, reported his accomplishments in his first 100 days in office.
The neophyte mayor said he has been solving problems inherited from past administrations and has made all aspects in the local government pleasant for the people.
He said that he has intensified measures on social, business, health, infrastructure, tourism, peace and order, livelihood, and environment programs.
He presented newly refurbished and reconditioned heavy equipment that were unserviceable for several years and repaired using personal funds.
Mea told municipal workers, the private sector, and barangay workers the creation of infrastructure group called "The Infra Team" to build and maintain barangay roads.
He said an action center – "Meaksyon Agad" – will respond at once to requests for medical, burial, and hospitalization assistance from residents, particularly the poor.
Mea said the daily wage of job order workers, many of them serving the local government for several years, has been increased from P250 to P350. Mea thanked the municipal council headed by Vice Mayor Dick Umali for passing a resolution granting the increase.
The mayor expressed confidence that he can take on the challenge of making this town better and stronger.
Tiaong is the gateway of Quezon and it should not be left behind in terms of development, Mea added.
House Deputy Majority Leader and Quezon Rep. David C. Suarez, the guest of honor at the event, backed Mea’s plans for the development of Tiaong.
