TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo and Department of National Defense Senior Undersecretary and officer-in-charge Jose Faustino Jr. have been named adopted sons of Kalinga.
They were given the honors during the inauguration of the Cordillera Region Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council inter-agency warehouse here on Friday, Oct. 7.
Tulfo was given the name “Mangom-Ombaliyon” which means brave, diligent, and a fighter while Faustino was called “Laguinday” – valiant, firm, and loyal – through Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolutions 2022-275 and 2022-276.
“The people and officialdom of the province of Kalinga singly and collectively recognize their leadership and utmost devotion to serve the people of which exemplify the true character and spirit of a leader,” the edicts said.
Tulfo and Faustino were the guests of honor in the opening of the facility.
The event was also graced by OCD Regional Director Albert Mogol, DSWD Regional Director Leo Quintilla, DOST Regional Director Nancy Bantog, Kalinga Rep. Allen Jesse Managaoang, Kalinga Gov. James Edduba, Kalinga Gov. Jocel Baac, Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, and former Kalinga Gov. Ferdinand Tubban, among others.
The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) allocated P25 million for the construction which started in 2021. The lot where it stands was donated by the provincial government.
